The Aluvia collection comprises four distinct products for the kitchen and bathroom, each designed with Latin American families in mind. Manufactured from recyclable plastics such as ABS and POM, these faucets are not only environmentally friendly but also easy to install and maintain, saving users both time and money.
The design process began with extensive research across Latin America, using design thinking tools to gather valuable insights. The faucets are manufactured using injection molding technology, with ABS used for the cases and POM for the internal chassis. Each faucet complies with international standards, making them especially valuable in terms of water saving.
The Aluvia collection includes 8-inch faucets for the kitchen and bathroom, a 4-inch bathroom faucet, and a single lever faucet for the kitchen. The handle design makes the faucet operation intuitive, and the carefully placed aerator prevents splashing at high flow rates, making it ergonomic when installed in the basin.
The project began in June 2015 in Bogota, Colombia, and concluded its design stage in July 2016. The Aluvia collection will be introduced to the market in June 2017. The design team faced several challenges during the development process, including creating an innovative and contemporary product in plastic and balancing functionality with aesthetics. However, the end result is a collection that reflects the company's values and promises.
The Aluvia collection has already garnered recognition, winning the prestigious Golden A' Bathroom Furniture and Sanitary Ware Design Award in 2017. This award is given to outstanding and trendsetting creations that advance art, science, design, and technology. With its innovative design and commitment to sustainability, the Aluvia collection is certainly deserving of this accolade.
